Our organization is responsible for planting, watering and maintaining flower beds and boxes in downtown Warrenton. These natural, seasonal displays help make downtown a welcoming place to visit, shop and dine. This is a task assigned to the Design Committee.
The team will be working closely with local artists and the owners of Main St. Market, to create a design that will best depict our area. We look forward to the finished product and the possibility of others wanting to transform their businesses, sharing their connection to Warrenton through art. This is a task assigned to the Artwork Committee.
Working in tandem with the City of Warrenton, we have identified and assisted in cleaning up many derelict properties throughout the city -- even organizing work parties as needed! This is a task assigned to the Cleanup Committee.
We have started a project to preserve and highlight historic elm trees along the Warrenton trail system. The ivy has been cut away, the underbrush removed, and the bark chips put in place. Phase 2 will include putting up signage.
Volunteers planted more than 1,000 daffodil bulbs and assorted ground covers, as well as replacing the dying cherry trees with pink and white flowering crabapple trees. Phase 1 was limited in scope, but future work with continue further along the downtown Hammond Greenway.
